'Freaylemaborg is a historic estate in Slochteren, Groningen the Netherlands. IThe mansion was built by the powerful landed gentry of Groningen and is a marvellous example of their cultural legacy. It started as a simple 'Steenhuis'. In the eightteenth century Henric Piccardi transformed teh builiding into a pleasant country retreat. In 1781 the park was turned into a landscap garden in the English style.
